The man behind the music.

Arko Pravo Mukherjee is an established songwriter & music composer in Bollywood. He enjoys a critical acclaim and has earned popular votes for his lyrics and music for big banner Bollywood films such as Jism2 (2012), Yaariyan (2014), Jazbaa (2015), Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Rustom (2016). ARKO has been nominated for various music awards in the Bollywood industry, including the Filmfare Awards, Radio Mirchi Music Awards and Stardust Awards.

Early Life

It was perhaps destined that a doctor-turned-musician will make great music, write songs for big production houses and movies like Jism 2 and Kapoor & Sons. From medicine to music, from the city of joy to the city of dreams, ARKO has come a long way. After graduating from Don Bosco School in Park Circus, Kolkata, in 2001, ARKO studied medicine at the Burdwan Medical College – about 100 km north of Kolkata. ARKO received his MBBS degree in 2007 but music was what was running in this doctor’s veins, which lured him to Bollywood.

Today, after many years of quest, ARKO is over the moon with the big banner release of his songs in Pooja Bhatt’s Jism 2, Karan Johar’s Kapoor & Sons, and many more. Never did he think that one day he would be credited with the title of lyricist and composer of the songs of such mainstream movies and get over 100 million views for a song composed by him. From Tagore songs and Bangla bands to Bollywood music — ARKO is overjoyed to see his dreams unfold before his own eyes and is excited about the things yet to come.
